Kary's Beauty Lounge sits on the fourth floor of Olympic House, in the middle of Nairobi's CBD. It is a working lounge, not a showroom. Chairs are busy from eight in the morning until eight at night, which means most people can get seen before work, over lunch, or on the way home.
What makes it one stop rather than three is the range. Nails and make-up happen in the same room as lash sets, brow shaping and piercings. The wigs on the shelf are the same units the artists install and revive. And if you want to learn the craft rather than just wear it, the Academy trains in the same space, on real clients.
